Creada en 1978
como Instituto Latinoamericano de
Investigaciones y Estudios Musicales Vicente
Emilio Sojo (Ilves), para honrar
la memoria del insigne maestro fundador, en
las primeras décadas del siglo XX,
de la escuela nacionalista de composición,
conocida también como Escuela de
Santa Capilla.
Es financiada por el gobierno venezolano a
través del Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Cultura.
El presente nombre se adopta en 1986. |
Created in 1978 as Vicente Emilio Sojo Latin American
Institute of Research and Music Studies (Ilves), to honor the memory of the illustrious
founder, in the first decades of the twentieth
century,
of the Nationalistic School of
Composition,
also known as Escuela de Santa Capilla.
It is financed by the Venezuelan government,
through the Popular Power Ministry for the Culture.
The present
name is adopted in 1986.
